Porto, Portugal!

On our way out from Spain to Portugal, we took a training and it had amazing views!!! It was beautiful!  And only cost us 4 euro to get here!!!

We arrived by train last night to Porto. Unfortunately we didn't get our passports stamped.. or even checked for that matter! That's always exciting, so we were a bit bummed. But when we arrived and walked out of the train station - and let me tell you.. the inside of that train station is flippin incredible - it seriously felt like we were on a movie set! The way the buildings are set up, the structure, and the layout, made us feel like we were literally in a movie.. waaay more than Barcelona.. can you believe it!?

Today we spent the day wandering around Porto. We started the morning by doing our laundry!!  And eating our breakfast at the hostel. Then we showered and headed out on a free guided tour!  Thus place is soo much cooler than I could have imagined.

The guide took us around the city and told us all about the history and how different buildings got there.  There are multiple buildings with Sculptures all over them! We went to a church that didn't look like a church from the outside, but inside it was ornately decorated, and all covered in gold.

Next we headed to a wall that used to guard the city. It kind of looked like 1/2 of a castle, & it looked pretty danger sweet with the fog.

At one point we were walking and there were only steps that led the way through the buildings, wrapping around them. They were stone steps and because the weather was foggy and rainy, and because I was looking around I slipped and fell on the steps!  Hah!  It's a good thing it was steep or I could've hurt myself!  But instead, it was like a graceful sit down lol.

We went down to the river for a nice view of the city across from it. After the tour, the guise gave us a ticket for a free tour and wine tasting at a winery, since Porto is famous for their Port Wine, we jumped only that!

So we headed across the river and to Graham's Winery. The tour was pretty great, and at the end we got sample of 3 port wines!  While we were wine tasting at the end, we met 2 people; Eaurelien from France, and Yiling from Taiwan! We humanity with them the rest of the night!  After Graham's closed, because we stayed and talked for about 2 hours, we headed back across the river, to a supermarket, and made carbenera pasta and vegetables for dinner at our hotel and hung out the rest of the night!

2 of our dorm mates were French,.Emanuel and Julian, and Eaurelian was French. And before this trip,  I never came across too many French people who I positively connected with, but this trip is starting to show me different. After breakfast this morning, I talked to Julian for about an hour and we both connected really well and really appreciated each other's company. And tonight with Eaurelian was a really good time. I'm thinking I'm being being taught something today.

With love,
<3 M
