Hola! Buen Camino! Day 2 & 3

Day 2:

Today was our second day on the Camino... It was again, very wonderful. We didn't go as far as yesterday; today we went 23.5km, and tomorrow we will go 28km.  We didn't see as many farms on the mountains, they were more full of trees today.

This morning, there was Beautiful fog!!  Tons!  We could not see past the tree line! At one point we past what once was a sunflower field, but was long gone, all that was left were the heads of the flowers (the round black parts). Then at one point we were passing this small factory..  it seemed like maybe it was a milk factory, I don't know because it wasn't long until we both started running due to the horrible smell.. We were breathing through our clothes, and it Still wasn't working!!!  It was by far the worst part yet..  surpasses any pain.. I'd rather take pain than walk through that smell again...

Our feet started hurting earlier on, but we got used to it faster because we were expecting it. We don't like to take breaks, we generally eat and drink as we go. A lot of people hike really fast then take a long great at a place to eat in a small town, but we just like to keep moving.. though, at  one point Leslie and I discussed taking a 30 minute break.. so we rested, for what ended up being about 15/20 minutes, in the grass of some cafe/resting point along the way.  Its much harder to get up once you sit down.. Then we trekked it the rest of the way, to where we'd stay the night, while listening to our iPods.. we were pretty much running on adrenaline and music at that point lol.. that and prayers were the only thing getting us by lol.

Tomorrow is 28km.. it's the hump day.. after tomorrow everything's downhill from there! Santiago on Sunday!!

Hello Advil, Goodnight World <3

Day 3:

Yesterday night, I should have taken tylenol pm as well.. people snored, smacked their lips together, and threw up all night!  But...  It is what it is!

Other than that, today was great. Long.. very tiring.. but great. To pass the time, & to try to not think about how tired we are, we tried to talk the whole time. We got lost, twice, saw multiple lizards and slugs lol, & took many breaks.

Right before we had lunch we came across this little oasis!  Along the Camino, someone had left fruit, drinking water, and coffee at a stand for the pilgrims!  It was such a beautiful gesture, so we decided to eat lunch there at the picnic tables behind it.

Today was our longest day.. so we arrived later in the day. But just before we arrived in town, Azura, we had 2 really steep inclines to overcome.  They were really tough and tiring. I felt like the last 2 hours today was one big cardiovascular workout!  But as we were finally getting into town we got a bit of inspiration. We went under a tunnel and saw that someone wrote (Well.. graffitied), "Suenyo es gratis" on the cement wall. Leslie told me I'd like it and said that it meant, tiredness is gratitude... at the time is was something we so truly needed to keep us going. To be tired on this journey, is to show gratitude toward God.  Hahaha.. unfortunately later Leslie thought about it, and it actually means, tiredness is free.. not sure what that is suppose to mean, but I really like that too..

Tonight, we finally cooked our own dinner!  It was less than 3 euros for the both of us!  So about 1.50 each! I'd say that's a win. We made spaghetti!  Bought the cheapest noodles and the cheapest tomato sauce and green beans.. but the spaghetti ended up tasting like spaghetti o's lolol sooo funny.. I might go for the sauce that's 25 cents more next time..

Tonight I am very sore.. so it's:

Hello Advil, Hello Tylenol PM, Goodnight World:)
